I strongly recommend to people that have a website is to make sure that your visitor makes a connection to you, especially if you’re selling a service. Using media content or social networks can be a great tool to ensure your visitor makes the emotional connection needed to encourage them to contact your business.
Let’s say you’re a doctor, or a photographer or a personal trainer. The visitor needs to get to know you. They want to see why they should either send you an email or call you. This is where adding media to your site can really make an effective website.
When you’re dealing with services or if you’re selling products, people want to know who they’re buying from and if they sense they can trust you. Trust is an important element on the internet. I will I’m not going to enter credit card information into website that I feel like I don’t trust the people whom I’m buying from. So it’s important that people make a connection to you. So whether you’re just selling things or if you’re providing a service, there’s got to be an element on your website that enables the visitor to get to know who owns the website or who is performing the service.
One way to accomplish this is through audio or video content. Also, I really recommend that you either hook up to a Facebook page or Youtube channel that you have created about your business or service or yourself.
Include, let's say, a radio interview that you were involved with or perhaps you were on a television show or even if you recorded a video of you just talking about how you work or the products that you have and doing it in a real, honest and open manner. That will create the connection that you need to make to your visitor. You really need to make that connection. The websites that I have seen that are the most successful in selling services are the ones where the visitor feels like they really got to know the service provider.
An example of that is, for instance, a photographer. I have a headshot photographer client, that if you read his web page about how he works, you wouldn’t want to call any other photographer. He describes the way he works so openly and honestly, and you can understand the quality of service that he provides. So you want to be sure that somehow that point has gotten across that you are real person providing valuable service or products.
